518 Day of Giving

Help Wicklund Warriors continue their crucial support for individuals facing temporary unemployment during their blood cancer treatments by donating to our cause during the 518 Day of Giving, from May 4th to May 18th. Our mission is to bridge financial gaps for families dealing with cancer, allowing them to focus on healing without added financial stress.

Founded by Deanna Wicklund in 2013 after her battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Wicklund Warriors has supported over 160 families in the capital region, providing over $200,000 in tailored aid. We aim to ensure individuals can access resources to navigate treatment effectively and regain financial stability post-treatment.

Donate from May 4th to May 18th, 2024, for the 518 Day of Giving. Your donation will make a real difference in the lives of those fighting cancer. Together, we can ensure #NoOneFightsAlone.

Want to make a BIG IMPACT. Participate in these Matching Events:

• MVP Health Care and United Way of the Greater Capital Region will match the first 10 donations of $518 starting at noon on May 17! Matching gifts will be allocated to the organization of the donor's original donation.
• United Healthcare will match the first $1,000 donated online to health-related organizations starting at 5:18 PM on May 17!

518 Day of Giving, Powered by the United Way of the Capital Region, is the first online regional fundraiser of its kind on May 18, 2024. The day harnesses the power of community to connect nonprofit organizations with new and existing donors while raising funds and awareness for the nonprofit community. Participating nonprofits hope to raise $518,000 to continue providing vital supports and services throughout the Capital Region and beyond.
