How to Apply

The mission of Wicklund Warriors, Inc. is to provide financial and other assistance to individuals and the families of individuals clinically diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, living within the Capital District of NY with (ALL), Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) or Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).


A one-time grant of between $500 - $2000 per patient/per calendar year is available for qualified patients, not to exceed a lifetime amount of $5,000. Applicants must be at or below an annual gross income level of 500% of Federal Poverty Guidelines.

How to Apply:

Please have your treatment center's social worker email us at for a copy of our application. The Melodies Center at Albany Medical and Dana Farber have our application on file. If you are at another treatment center, please have your social worker reach out to us. Social workers have access to various agencies and charities that can, when combined, provide assistance in mutually beneficial ways. Once you meet with your social worker, they will submit your completed application to us. We will then contact you for follow-up questions and complete our application process.


The application must be completed in its entirety and must be signed by the treatment center’s Social Worker/Nurse Navigator AND prescribing Dr. AND the Patient/Guardian.

Potential Determination Factors Toward(s) Grant Level:

  • Presence of the Philadelphia+ (positive) chromosome

  • Initial vs. relapse diagnosis

  • Other related complications related to diagnosis

  • Need for travel to treatment location/relocation for transplant or specialized medical care

  • Extended hospital stay(s)

  • Care coordination/job loss due to long-term care of the patient
